Exploring the Falklands War at the Quick

The Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts presented Campo Minado/MINEFIELD, directed by Argentinean director Lola Arias, on January 26. Six actual veterans of the Falklands War who once faced each other on the battlefield, faced each other on stage in this riveting theatre production. Together, the veterans shared memories, films, songs, and photos as they recalled their collective war and the political figures who led them into it. Rich with live-action projections, and told in both Spanish and English, Campo Minado/MINEFIELD was staged on a film-set-turned-time-machine, enabling those who fought to be teleported into the past to reconstruct their memories of the war and its aftermath.
